Wilma Buck

Wilma I. Buck, 98, of Parsons, died at 2:44 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.

She was born September 14, 1912, in Mont Ida, Kansas, to Grant and Ruby (Venetta) Broomhall. As a young girl she grew up in Mont Ida where she attended schools.

She and Wallace A. Buck were married May 2, 1943, in Mont Ida, Kansas. Following marriage, the couple lived in Mont Ida until moving in 1969 to Parsons where he worked at the Kansas Ordnance Plant. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2002.

She was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Parsons and, in earlier years, enjoyed quilting and embroidery.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Buell and Eleanor Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mont Ida Cemetery near Garnett. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m., on Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Elmhaven East Activity Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
