Zachary Scott "Zach" Harding, 21, of Parsons, died early Saturday morning, November 5, 2011, near Erie, from injuries sustained in a car-train accident. He was born July 24, 1990, in Parsons, Kansas to Scott William and Rachael Lynn (Looney) Harding. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul and was a 2008 graduate of St. Paul High School. He had also attended Labette Community College and Pittsburg State University. While attending PSU, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. For a time, he worked at Stafford & Westervelt Chartered CPA firm in Parsons. He enjoyed camping, canoeing and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include: One Son – Kale Jacob Harding Parsons, KS Mother and Stepfather - Rachael and Ed Butler St. Paul, KS Father – Scott Harding and companion, Karen Jones Parsons, KS One Brother – Alex Butler St. Paul, KS Three Sisters - Alicia Harding Springfield, MO April Harding Parsons, KS Leah Butler St. Paul, KS Paternal Grandparents – Chris and Mary Robinson Parsons, KS Maternal Grandfather – Rodney Looney Bartlesville, OK Maternal Grandmothers – Mary Snow Parsons, KS Katherine Butler Fasken St. Paul, KS Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Memorials are suggested to the Kale Harding Educational Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
